Nachos Recipe {Similar to Bar Louie}

On Football sundays we LOVE to indulge! I do use low fat/FF SC, and cheese, and I am sure there are "healthier" versions of this recipe but come on, some things are NOT meant to be healthy! ;)

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 bag Tortilla Chips (I prefer Tostitos multi grain scoops)
1 cup sour cream
1 jar salsa con queso dip (I prefer Tostitos)
1/2 bag shredded cheese (I like a mix with cheddar and jack)
1/2 can black beans
1-2 cups cubed chicken (I used rotisserie chicken and then add garlic powder)
2-3 table spoons crumbled bacon
1 can sliced black olives
1/2-1 cup cubed tomatoes
1/2 cup sliced green onions
1/4 cup chopped white onion

***These could be made with taco meat as well!***

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
On a baking pan, put down foil, spray with baking spray and then lay down chips
In a pot take queso and sour cream, mix together and heat.
In another pan heat black beans
Sprinkle shredded cheese over chips
Take queso mixture and pour on top
spread black beans
then add chicken and bacon
bake until desired (usually like 5 mins)
Take out of oven and add olives, tomatoes, green and white onions.

Can be served with guac, sour cream and/or salsa!

My hubby LOVED them!

You know your food is good when the hubby send a text message with a "hashtag" lol

Fall Fashion

I have felt so much inspiration from fellow bloggers and pinterest (of course) and thought it would be fun to document some of my fall outfits!

Don't worry, I am not about to get all "fashion blogger" on you, I am FAR from it! ha!
(I do have much respect for those who are!)

I got a lot of *instagram love* about this outfit! The kick off and inspiration to this post! :)

Before Olivia, I used to spend a lot more time (and $$) on myself. I like that the above outfits are all SO affordable AND mommy friendly! I thought it was fun documenting my outfits and I will admit, made me put a little more thought into my outfits! :)

So what do you guys think? Is this a post you would like to see more often?

Chili Recipe

With the colder weather we had this week, chili was the perfect meal! This recipe is SO easy and makes a LOT!

Ingredients:
1lb ground beef (I use lean)
1 medium onion chopped
garlic (to taste)
chili powder (to taste)
chopped basil leaves (to taste)
white pepper (to taste)
salt (to taste)
1 can diced tomatoes (could use "hot")
2 cans chili beans (I use mild but you could use medium or hot!)

Directions:
Take chopped onion and beef, mix together and brown beef with above seasonings.

While beef is cooking, take beans and tomatoes and throw in food processor. (I like my chili smooth, if you don't you can skip this step)

Once beef is cooked, drain and then add beans and tomatoes. Add more seasonings, if needed. (This chili is meant to be on the thicker side, you can add water if you want your chili not as thick.)
Cook on simmer, covered for 1 hour.

We eat our chili topped with a sprinkling of cheese and chopped onion!
ENJOY!

Don't forget, today is the LAST day to enter my giveaway!! :)

The day I made a deal with the devil...

...errrr I mean my husband!

Jeremy and I check our finances every month to make sure we stick to our budget and make sure we aren't "over spending." (well, we check more than once a month but we get together and try to talk about them a couple times a month. We never argue about money and I think doing this helps us not)

This particular week when going over our lists, Target and etsy/paypal were the HOT ones on my list! Target was popping up 2-3 times a week!! YIKES!! If you follow me on four square, instagram or twitter you might be like "Wow, this girl likes target!" CORRECTION this girl LOVES target!!!

We live in a small town. Target is seriously all I've got, (oh, and panera!) and Target has EVERYTHING! Clothes, shoes, accessories, make up, home goods, groceries, etc. I think we can ALL say it is hard to get out of Target for $50+!

Well, the hubby just doesn't understand. He doesn't get the "trap" that Target has us set up in. Which brings me to the "day I made a deal with the devil." I made a deal with Jeremy to not shop at Target for TWO WHOLE WEEKS AND Make dinner at home every night for at least one week. (starting yesterday)

I can NOT believe I made this deal with him! I am also kind of scared to see how much $$ we are going to save but in the end I am also EXCITED to see how much we save too!

Wish me luck, I am going to need it!
(Typing this made this feel real, I might need to throw in the towel...)

***If Target would like to send me gift cards so my purchases can not be tracked, they are MORE than welcome! SHHH, just don't tell Jeremy***

P.S. Have you entered my giveaway?

Weekend Wrap-up

FRIDAY

We ran errands and then Olivia and I hung out around the house. At night I cleaned the down stairs and did LOTS of laundry!

SATURDAY
Saturday we headed downstate to hang out with my dad for the day. Here is Olivia sporting her first REAL ponytail! :)

We stopped in Lansing for a stretch break and accidently ended up at F21!

Olivia took a short nap, so of COURSE every red light I had to snap some pics! :)

Once we got to my dads house, Olivia "checked things out" played and then we went to lunch and then went to couple more stores! (Toys R Us, ON, etc.)

On our way back I NEEDED a caffeine boost! :)

We hung out and played soe more before heading to Red Robin for dinner. I was VERY impressed with their childrens menu! SO many options and HEALTY options too!!

After dinner we headed home. We had SUCH a fun day with my dad! I wish we lived closer to family!

SUNDAY

Olivia turned 16 months old!

Olivia slept in until 9am!!

Once she woke up we got ready and hit the panera drive-thru for breakfast. It was SO chilly out so I was excited to break out one of her new fall accessories! (Hurry up ON & GAP, I am ANXIOUSLY awaiting the rest of my shipments!) :)

We shared and break fast sandwich and a pumpkin muffin. Actually I think I got 3 bits of the muffin, Olivia LOVED it!!

The rest of the morning we hung out at home. Olivia took a late morning nap so I was able to do another load of laundry, clean up stairs a little bit, shower and get ready for the day.

(Details on outfit are coming in another post later this week!)

Once she was up she had lunch and then we went to the grocery store.

For dinner I made a bunch of "football" food for sunday night football. Jeremy hasn't been home for dinner all week so it was nice to have him home!

...Of course Olivia stayed up MUCH later then usual and at first she was VERY slap happy, her mood soured quickly and she became over tired. Poor girl.

Once Olivia went to bed, we stayed up watching shows, house hunting and just hung out!

How was your weekend?

16 Months

On September 23rd, yesterday, Olivia turned 16 months old!

Stats
As of Tuesday, Olivia weighed in at 21 lbs 5 oz, and is 34"! Size 4 diapers. She is wearing 12-18m and 18m clothes. size 5-5.5 shoes. 8 teeth, 4 on top and 4 on bottom, currently teething. LOVES sitting in the new car seat vs rear facing!

Activity
SUCH a busy girl! Olivia is completely mobile! Walking, practically running, jumping, rolling, crawling, etc. She now prefers to stand in her stroller, high chair, shopping cart, etc. Loves "playing" with her self in the mirror. Will clap, smile and kiss "baby" in mirror. Still doesn't watch tv. We will put on baby einstein or other baby shows and she might "glance" at the tv but won't "sit" and watch. When Olivia hears music she will bounce up and down or start dancing. LOVES playing peak-a-boo and plays back with us now!

Toys
LOVES her mega blocks, walker, teethers, books, loves to rip paper, loves her flash cards, loves our cell phones, tv remotes, and car keys!! OMG when she sees our car keys if they aren't in her hands she goes CRAZY! haha
Talking
Says mama, da da, mommy, daddy, hi, hey, ok, yea, yes, no, whoa, wow, hey, baby, boo (peak-a-boo)
(I am sure there are a couple words I am forgetting)
VERY vocal! Loves to scream, screech, squeal, etc.

Eating
She still won't touch cow milk but LOVES soy milk. Is eating everything we eat. LOVES chicken, cheese and bread. Also, loves broccoli, mandarin oranges. Spits out tomatoes, mushrooms and fruit snacks...I am thinking because of the texture? Every once in a while we still give her a bottle with formula and/or soy milk. Still throws food from high chair, idk why this started. Doesn't mean she is full or wanting something else, but will throw food or cup and then just STARE at it as if it will jump back onto her tray! haha

Habits
Olivia is OBSESSED with Jeremy and I and doesn't leave our side when we are some place new or around people she doesn't see often. She LOVES seeing pictures and videos of herself!
Thinks it is funny to pull bows and headbands off of her head. Also chews on EVERYTHING. Also, bites now, which we are working on. Has a WEIRD obsession with feet. Loves touching our feet and "chasing" them when we move them haha Olivia is still a thumb sucker. When walking if she sees a door knob or light switch will try to reach/play with it. VERY observant, she notices EVERYTHING. Spots things from FAR away!
Sleep
Sleeps GREAT! Usually goes to bed around 7-7:30pm and then sleeps 12 hours +. This past week she has had a couple nights where she wakes up SCREAMING in the middle of the night so we bring her to bed with us and then she goes back to sleep. IDK if she is having a nightmare or something but she usually isn't too hot or cold and not hungry either. We originally thought maybe it is part of her teething but she has never done this before.

Personality
Can be SUPER sassy but also is SO sweet! Gives kisses, hugs and is the best cuddler around! SO expressive with facial expressions and vocal range! Not afraid to let you know how she feels! She is SO brave and fearless. Will take a fall after walking too fast and most of the time I hold my breath and then she gets up, looks up at us like " why the pale face? I am fine mama!" haha

Olivia and I had our first mama/daughter lunch date (first of MANY!) on 9/15. We went to Bar louie and split sliders haha

Overall, this past month, as all the other months, have been SO much fun! I can't believe Olivia is already 16 months old! It feels like yesterday I was writing the 12 month post! This past summer was BEYOND fun and I am so excited for our "fall bucket list!" Watching Olivia grow has been such a pleasure and blessing and she brings SO much joy to our lives!

We love you sweet girl!! :)
