Here I sit in bed at 10:30 am and I feel like I accomplished a huge feat. I made it through 3 days of not so funness (yes I made up a word) also known as the flu.
FRIDAY
It all started friday night. Olivia and I were both exhausted, but I attributed it to a stressful week. I noticed Olivia was acting more clingy then normal but figured she was just tired. I gave her a bath after dinner, we cuddled on the couch and watched a movie before bed.
SATURDAY
At 5am I heard her what sounded like "gagging" and ran to her crib just in time to sit her up so she could vomit all over her bed, herself and me. I got her cleaned up, bed cleaned up, myself cleaned up and consoled her. I propped her up with a pillow in her bed, because I didn't want her to gag or choke if she threw up again. She immediately fell back asleep but the same thing happened about 5 more times between 5 am and 730am. I felt SO bad for my little girl.
When she woke up around 9 you could tell she felt SO much better. I, of course, didn't sleep at all because I wanted to be awake to help her since I didn't know how often this would occur. We spent the morning on the couch watching cinderella and cuddling.
The rest of the day I spent trying to get her to drink liquids, saltines and pedialyte popsicles. Luckily she didn't throw up the rest of the day.
She easily went to bed that night but then at 830p I thought I heard her, so went to check up her and as soon as I got in the room she started crying and throwing up again. I took her temp and it was at 99.9. She wanted to lay back down but I was nervous so I cleaned her up, cleaned up her bed/bedding and let her lay down propped up with a cold wash cloth on her head. She slept through the night and didn't throw up again.
SUNDAY
We started the day off with a bath. Olivia LOVES bath time and you could tell that this perked her RIGHT up!!
Sunday was challenging because she wanted to eat. I was nervous about giving her breakfast so I let her try saltines first, drink water and then around noon I let her have eggs. The rest of the day I let her snack on dry cereal and crackers and around dinner I let her have some soup and rice. She easily went to bed.
That night I started feeling SUPER sick. I didn't want to eat or drink and just knew it was coming. I started around 10pm and was sick until around 730 this morning. I got hit WAY harder then Olivia but am "happy" to have this much worse then Liv. Luckily Liv seems back to her happy, healthy self. We are still taking it easy on what she is eating...dry toast, white rice, bananas, etc. For me I am just seeing if I can keep a few sips of vitamin water down.
I felt AWFUL calling into work this morning, but knew there was no way I would be going into work. I am hoping the worst is over now, this flu is NO joke!! I do feel SO SO much better now.
I want to thank everyone who gave me advice for Olivia through IG and twitter over the weekend! I REALLY appreciated it!!
I hope you are all having a better monday then me!! :)
