Weekend Wrap-up {Chicago}

This past weekend we spent in Chicago, celebrating St. Paddy's Day and my friend Meg's birthday! We had a LOT of fun but missed a little girl a WHOLE lot!! (We left Olivia at Jer's parents house for the weekend)

Before leaving for Chicago we were in metro detroit where we did a little bit of shopping and then we got some mexican food for lunch! yummy! Then we dropped off Olivia before picking up our friends! It was SO hard for me to leave Olivia. I knew she was in good hands but this was the first time we were leaving her overnight since she came home from the NICU! She had a very good time with her grandparents, she was ALL smiles when we came home :)

This weekend we stayed at the W hotel on Lakeshore Drive. I would HIGHLY recommend the hotel! It was BEAUTIFUL and had LOTS of places to take photos! haha

We arrived in Chicago on Friday night. We refreshed, changed and met our hubby's downstairs at the hotel bar for drinks. Then we took a cab to NIU Japanese Fushion Lounge for dinner. We got apps and sushi, and it was DELISH!! After dinner we went to a local bar for drinks and then headed back to our hotel and went to the top floor to hang out at the Whisky bar. The hubby's got drinks, the wifey's drank water...we can't hang! lol

Saturday morning we got ready while drinking champagne and then headed to breakfast at YOLK. Then we went and checked out the green river. It was SO cool! After that we just bar hopped around town! It was a BEAUTIFUL day!

Saturday night we had dinner reservations at RPM, or as Meg and I kept calling it "G&B's"

The food was DELISH!! Jer and I got the stuffed mushrooms and meatballs for appetizers. I got the truffled farfalle and Jer got the spicy king crab. I'll admit Jer's dish looked a little scary but it was very yummy!

For dessert Meg and I split this hazelnut dish. It was AMAZING!!

We LOVED the decor! ( SO G & Billy R! haha)

After dinner we decided to head over to the bar to hang out. Meg and I continued sipping on Moscato and then later on we tried some other drinks. Our motto this past weekend was "young, wild, and free!" haha

After RPM where we hung out for 4+ hours we went back to the hotel for more drinks, checked out our view on top of our hotel

and then ended the night with deep dish pizza and chicken fingers :)

Sunday we headed back home. It was nice out but we were all exhausted! Jer and I were SO anxious because we really wanted to see our girl! Once we got to Jer's parents house we suffocated Olivia with our love! haha LOTS AND LOTS of hugs and kisses! :)

Once we got home it was bottle time and she held the bottle for her WHOLE feeding!? When did she get so B I G?!!

Then we went for a walk to get ice cream (because we didn't eat enough this past weekend) and Olivia spent the walk "chatting" and playing with Ellie! hehe
