{DIY} Minnie Mouse Centerpiece

When it came to the decor for Liv's "OhTWOodles" themed 2nd birthday party, I really wanted to keep the details simple. We had JUST moved into our house and I was already stressed out enough about packing, moving, unpacking and getting this new house ready for the party.
(Did I mention this all happened within 7 days on top of working 40+ hours a week and Jeremy working his 80-100 hours/wk? ...Yeah I am crazy!)

So yeah, keeping it simple was KEY! I had pinned a TON off of pinterest and knowing I couldn't "do it all" I decided to choose just a few projects to tackle and my favorite ended up being the centerpieces we used for the tables!

INSPIRATION:

(Images found though pinterest)

MY CREATION:

This project was SO simple. The most "tedious" part was spray painting!

 What you will need:
Some sort of "balls" to create the head ( I chose styrofoam since I knew it would be light and easy to attach together
Wooden dowels (I used cake pop sticks)
Spray paint (Make sure you can use it on the material you choose!)
Ribbon

Not pictured:
Fishing wire
A container
Candy

DIRECTION:
Stick your "balls" on your "sticks"
(I am so technical!)

Use your spray paint, I painted in a circular motion so Minnie didn't have "bald spots!" haha

The paint I bought said that you should let your craft sit for at least 30 minutes but I decided to let it sit for 24 hours.

After everything is dry...start attaching! I used fishing wire to attach the bow to the "ear."

I also ended up buying extra foam, put that in the bottom of my container,  stuck the minnie mouse head into the styrofoam with 2 more wooden dowels and then topped the foam off with candy!

...Oh and I can't forget about my cutie-pie assistant! ;)

 Linking up for SPD! :)
