My hubby's family is Catholic and decorates for Christmas VERY traditional and my family is Jewish so growing up we never had a tree or did holiday decorations unless it involved a menorah and a Star of David! :)
Once we moved in together we decided that we wanted to decorate for the holidays and include both of our religions. My hubby doesn't like the traditional red and green look for christmas since that is what he grew up with. When we shopped for our decorations (obviously day after Christmas, DUH, 50-75% off!!!) We decided to go with Silver decorations with blue and white accents. Last year we added the vases with the ornaments on our "mantle" (tv stand) and the garland. This year was the first year we decorated our stair case and the first year we displayed the holiday cards we received. (idea courtesy of The Bargain Blonde!) & don't mind that we only have 2 cards and 1 of them is ours! haha This pic was taken a week ago, we have more friends now! :)
